However, the fun only starts at WrestleMania 33. It will last a total of two more days.

It is an annual tradition for the crowds to pack the stands at the Raw (and after the brand split, SmackDown) after WrestleMania, be loud and raucous and witness the arrival of the next generation of Superstars from NXT, who will become integrated into the storylines of the main roster and thereby add a whole new dimension to the overall product.

In this piece, we look at the five likeliest options to be called up. Beg to differ or have a suggestion of your own? Let your thoughts be known in the comments below.

#5 Shinsuke Nakamura

Let’s begin with the most predominant rumour out there. When Shinsuke Nakamura lost to Bobby Roode at NXT TakeOver: Orlando, the whole arena was chanting in unison- ‘see you Tuesday!’

According to the grapevine, Nakamura makes his main roster debut in the SmackDown following WrestleMania 33. This is great news for the King of Strong Style, considering that SmackDown has been booking their talent far better than their contemporaries on the red brand.

With AJ Styles reportedly moving to Raw, it additionally allows for the internet wrestling community to remain invested in a favourite on the blue brand as well. Imagine if the lights go out and Nakamura’s music hits…what a mark out moment it’ll be!

#4 Elias Samson

Elias Samson was recently part of a ‘loser leaves NXT’ match against Kassius Ohno and was escorted out of the building at the culmination of the same. Ohno even stepped on his guitar and broke it. While his career in music may soon be coming to an end, his wrestling career is just getting started.

We believe this was a way for Samson to go to the main roster, ideally Raw, after WrestleMania 33.

Why Raw makes sense over SmackDown is because announcer Corey Graves absolutely cannot stand Samson. His rants are often more entertaining than Samson’s matches. Even the ‘loser leaves NXT’ match did not feel the same without Graves calling it and going ballistic at “The Drifter”.

Elias Samson won’t get the same push that Nakamura probably will, but we expect him to be an integral comedy figure in the main roster on Raw.

#3 Tye Dillinger

Tye Dillinger is such an underdog that even Sami Zayn seems like an overachiever when compared to him. We believe that while he has been booked to be a loser, this has endeared him to the NXT and the WWE universe.

No wonder, one hears ‘ten’ chants every time a referee begins counting when action spills outside the ring. As always, Dillinger took the pin from Killian Dain at the conclusion of the 8-man tag team match he was involved in, at NXT TakeOver: Orlando.

Does this mean that ‘The Perfect Ten’ is on his way up to the main roster to try his luck on Raw or SmackDown? Dillinger was involved in a war of words with The Miz not so long ago and was also part of the Royal Rumble match.

We believe that it’s only a matter of time until Tye Dillinger gets called up, because of his instant likeability. This is in direct contrast to a character such as The Miz, and the two can have quite a brilliant feud indeed.

#2 Killian Dain

Last year, Baron Corbin won the whole thing and this year, he’s in a singles match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania. This year, it’s Killian Dain’s opportunity to make his presence felt.

The big man announced that he would be a party of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in the pre-show of WrestleMania 33. While his call-up seems rather premature, and we’d be surprised to see it happen, WWE has always been keen on big men on the main roster.

Will the man do well on his own, without SAnitY’s assistance? Here’s a stranger possibility – what if all of SAnitY gets called up to Raw or SmackDown? That would be interesting!

#1 The Revival

The Revival may just be the best tag team in the world at present, at least between the ropes. Every match of theirs is an instant classic and they have elevated the tag team division to a new level on NXT.

Both of the members have teased several main roster appearances and have even gotten in trouble for being too heelish online. We believe it’s finally time for them to ascend to the main roster and transform the face of the tag team division forever.

We’d prefer that they go to SmackDown because of their amazing chemistry with American Alpha, but considering how good they are, Dash and Dawson can have good matches with just about anyone.
